Every year Rolling Stone Magazine does a Top Ten Songs Of The Year. Usually based on the popularity of the song or the artist and not the actual quality of the song. So the more underground bands don’t get as much recognition. This list is based on how well the songs are written and the actual sound of the song too, not just the popularity. Here is my list of the songs that deserve to be on the list of Top Ten Songs Of The Year.
- “Disdain” by Knuckle Puck
The first single Chicago pop-punk band Knuckle Puck released off their debut album ‘Copacetic’ gives a great feel for the album will be as a whole.
- “Oh No” by Bring Me The Horizon
The last track off the band’s latest album ‘That’s The Spirit’ has an extremely pop feel that any music lover will enjoy.
- “One Of Them Will Destroy The Other” by Mayday Parade
Coming out of their softer shell into the more punk style, Mayday Parade borrowed vocals from Dan Lambton from Real Friends for the intro track on their new record ‘Black Lines’.
- “Cardinals” by The Wonder Years
South Philly pop-punk band The Wonder Years started off the Summer music season with this unforgettable new classic pop-punk track.
- “This Probably Won’t End Well” by All That Remains
Spanning many genres ranging from deathcore to radio rock, All That Remains will have you humming along with this slow tempoed rock hit.
- “Hello” by Adele
After a several year break from releasing new music, Adele comes back with this powerful track with a video to match it.
- “R.I.P. to my Youth” by The Neighbourhood
For those who didn’t become a fan of The Neighbourhood when Sweater Weather came out, here’s your second chance.

UK pop-punk band Neck Deep came out swinging with their latest album. The acoustic track December is perfect for the snowy weather type of mood.

This hardcore act released this emotional ballad at the beginning of this year. It follows the story of a young teen who leaves home searching for more than his prior life.
- “Sorry” by Justin Bieber
What could be better than closing out a top ten list with some Biebs? Justin Bieber came out with his latest album ‘Purpose’ with plenty of bangers. The number one song off the album, and of the year, is this apologetic track featuring not much more than vocals, bass and a little bit of a drum track, nothing else required.
