Vista Wins First Ever Eagle Cup

On Saturday Feb. 7 the Mountain Vista varsity hockey team defeated Heritage to win the first ever Eagle Cup.

The Eagle Cup is a new tradition that takes place between Mountain Vista and Heritage high school. The winner of the regular season game between the two teams wins the Eagle Cup for that year.

Vista got off to a quick start after junior Jordan Cox scored 6:17 into the game. Shortly after that senior Reid Goodman scored Vista’s second goal of the game.

Heritage netted their first goal of the game 3:43  into the second period to make the score 2-1. Vista sophomore Kaden Stewart answered back scoring the game winning goal shortly after.

Vista won with a final score of 5-2, making them the first winners of the Eagle Cup. IMG_9877
