Varsity Football vs. Douglas County Homecoming Win

The pre-game tailgate and homecoming football game are always two of the highest attended events during the week of homecoming.

The stands were completely packed with students and parents all wearing green for the final dress up day of the week.

The varsity football team played Douglas County High School Sept. 25 with the  Golden Eagles winning 48-14. Although it seemed like a blow out, Vista had to come back from controversial calls and missed plays.

“Our coach tells us every practice that adversity is going to hit us and what makes us stronger is how well we bounce back so we just took that to heart,” senior Will Flynn said.

The win gave the team the confidence they need to take on rival ThunderRidge Oct. 1. “We worked together as a team and came out with a w and now were focusing on ThunderRidge,” Nick Capocelli, senior, said.
