For the general news category, students voted Michael Weaver’s DCSD Administrator of the Year award as being the highlight of the school year. Weaver was presented the award on May. 4 at the Apple Awards Ceremony, attended by winners from each Douglas County school. Today, he will complete his sixth year as the principal of Mountain Vista.
In sports, the poms team winning nationals was elected as the top sports moment of the year. After a tough loss at the state competition, the team regrouped and went on to perform their best against schools from across the country.
