The Mountain Vista Men’s varsity basketball season started up Dec. 4 in a game against Loveland that resulted in a Vista win. Since winter break, there have not been any games.
The season starts back up Tuesday, Jan. 6 against Fort Collins. Over break, the team practiced to prepare for the upcoming season.
The players would practice as a team and even go to the gym on their own time over break.
“I went to the gym every day,” senior Espen Thune-Larsen said. “It helped to stay in the right mentality.”
Aside from practicing every day, the team also had dinners and brunches.
“We practiced a lot, but we also came closer as a team,” sophomore Jake Belknapp said. “I’m excited for the upcoming season with harder games as we play more competitive teams.”
The team has high aspirations for the upcoming season. “I’m most excited for winning state this season,” sophomore Isaac Phillips said.
