CHRISTIAN HOLTON//KENZIE WINSLOW
Despite a 10-1 record and winning their last 10 games, Vista’s men’s ice hockey team dropped two spots in the state rankings this week from the 6th position to the 8th. Vista is currently behind: 1) Monarch, 2) Regis, 3) Ralston Valley, 4) Dakota Ridge, 5) Resurrection Christian, 6) Lewis-Palmer, and 7) Denver East. “Dropping in state isn’t a huge deal,” said junior forward Kaden Stewart, “It definitely gives us a reason to go out and earn more respect though.”
However, Vista has a chance to prove themselves as a top team in the state as they take on 3rd ranked Ralston Valley on Tuesday, Feb. 9th. “Ralston Valley has a good reputation,” said Stewart, “It’s going to be the little things that we can’t forget about that will make the difference.”
The game is at 6:30 p.m. at Apex ice arena.
